The Client:

Palmers Garden Centre is a well-established, popular, family run business.  It all started back in 1960 originally to grow fruit, vegetables and flower crops to sell to the local community.  The Palmers family now own 3 sites in Leicestershire; Enderby, Ullesthorpe and Hawgrip.  With outstanding customer loyalty.  Palmers sites have become destination sites enhanced with the introduction of concession partners, to complement their offer and weather proof their business.

Outcome:

SFRC started working with Palmers, in 2014 when Sue started SFRC Ltd and continues to work with Palmers to date.

In conjunction with First Franchise, Sue has introduced a variety of local and national brands to the individual sites.

Sue and her team are the first point of contact for all new enquiries received.

What We Did:

Initially we were asked to review the current tenant portfolio, and renegotiate the existing tenant agreements.  7 existing concession partners were issued new agreements.  Attending regular garden centre meetings, SFRC continues to promote appropriate concession brands and is involved with all aspects of each of the concession installation programme.  With the introduction of national brands, such as Brantano Shoes, Pets Corner, Cotton Traders, The Works, Edinburgh Woollen Mill.

Benefits:

  • Increased Footfall
  • Another reason why customers should visit Palmers
  • Increase in restaurant turnover
  • Increase in overall site turnover
  • Enhanced the customer proposition
  • Maximising £ per sq. ft. density
  • Utilising unused internal and external space
  • Guaranted fixed rental income vs. potential sales.
  • Weather proofing the business!
